Where to Shop...

In Bangkok

Bangkok is sometimes called the "Shopper's Paradise" due to its abundance of fashionable clothing at super low costs. If you happen to be in Thailand, jump by these malls!

CENTRAL WORLD

Homesick? Miss the brands from the States? No problem! Head over to Central World, the third largest shopping complex in the world. This has boutiques from our favorite designers like Miss Selfridge, Kate Spade, and French Connection, but also has more affordable options like Topshop, Forever 21, and Zara.

PLATINUM FASHION MALL

Specializing in wholesale (discounted prices for two or more pieces from one store), the Platinum Fashion Mall has two six-story buildings. Each has several hundred if not thousands of small stores, but be warned: it is quite difficult to navigate!

TERMINAL 21

Located on Soi 21, this is a fun themed mall. The entrance has a costumed gentleman standing by an airport security-esque walk-through metal detector (don't worry, it doesn't matter if it beeps) and the ladies at the information desk are costumed as flight attendants. Each of the 9 floors represents a major world city (i.e. Paris, Tokyo, Rome) and the prices are great!

Love from Bangkok!

What's the Word?

Peplum

The hottest new trend of 2012, the peplum is a must-know. It is a ruffle that encircles the wearer's waist and flairs out to give definition to/create that much wanted hourglass figure. They are found attached to the bottom of shirts/jackets, top of skirts, or on the waist of a dress.

The origin: First created in ancient Greece, the word "peplum" came from the word for "tunic." Its popularity soared in the 19th century when women's fashion aimed to make the body look better for bearing children.

Works best for: Ladies with ruler-bodies (straight with less curves) or anyone looking to enhance her hips.

Floral Peplum Mini Skirt (Topshop)

Love that peplum! Would you wear it?
